38 youths in Kogi State have received loans totaling N100,000 from the National Directorate of Employment (NDE) to start sustainable agricultural development.
The beneficiaries of the loan will use it to start four agricultural projects run by the Rural Employment Promotion Department of the NDE in Kogi state: Graduate Agricultural Enhancement, Community Based Agricultural Empowerment, Sustainable Agricultural Development, and Agricultural Enhancement.
A total of 100 unemployed youngsters received training in sustainable agricultural development in addition to loan distribution.

The NDE Director General, Mallam Abubakar Nuhu Fikpo, who was in Lokoja to inaugurate the program and was represented by the state coordinator, Mallam Abubakar Zakari, said that agriculture is the only industry in Nigeria that has the ability to provide for unemployed youngsters with mass employment.
The Director General reaffirmed the administration of President Buhari’s desire to attack unemployment head-on by launching programs that will increase the number of job possibilities available to young people.
The training was created to provide recipients with the necessary training in crop production, animal husbandry, food processing, and packaging, according to Mallam Shuaibu Omeiza, Head of Rural Employment Promotion, in his welcome address during the flag-off ceremony.
The NDE headquarters in Abuja’s Mrs. Ann Ita, the program’s facilitator, urged the trainees to take advantage of the opportunity because it has the potential to positively impact their lives.
Mallam Alhassan Dangana responded on behalf of the participants, thanking the NDE and the federal government for providing them with the chance to participate in the program and promising to make the most of the exceptional opportunity.
